1-point evocation | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
Range: | 150 feet |
Components: | V, S |
Duration: | 10 minutes |
You conjure a three-foot spike of ice to hang down from a point in range. The point must be a ceiling or an overhead structure, such as an extending tree branch or the edge of a roof.
Within the duration, whenever a creature moves directly underneath this point, you can use your reaction to drop the spike on that creature, ending the spell. The creature must then succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d8 piercing damage plus 1d8 cold damage.
This reaction can't be used if the creature starts its turn under that point or isn't moving.
Upcast. You can upcast this spell by expending extra magic points when you cast it. For each extra point, increase the cold damage by 1d8.
2nd-level evocation | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
Range: | 60 feet |
Components: | V, S |
Duration: | 1 minute |
You conjure a pile of 10 magic snowballs on a patch of unoccupied 5-foot-square of ground adjacent to you. As part of the action used to cast this spell, you can hurl a snowball up to 90 feet at a creature or object. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 cold damage, consuming one of the snowballs.
Any creature that can reach the snowball pile can use its action to throw one of of the snowballs and make this ranged spell attack using your spellcasting modifier—even if the attack is made against you. A creature can also use its interaction for the round to pick up one snowball to be used for an attack later.
The spell ends when all 10 snowballs have been thrown, removed from the space in which they were conjured, or otherwise destroyed. The snowball pile has 1 heart point and AC 10 it is immune to cold and psychic damage. If the pile is reduced to 0 heart points, all remaining snowballs are destroyed.
At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, add 1d8 cold damage for every two spell slot levels above 1st.
