Evasion. When the aeralfos is subjected to an effect that allows a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage on a success, and only half damage if it fails.

Flyby. While it is flying, the aeralfos's movement doesn't provoke reactions.

Improved Initiative. The aeralfos has advantage on any ability check it makes to determine turn order in combat.

Innate Spellcasting. The aeralfos's innate spellcasting ability is Constitution (spell save DC 20). The aeralfos can innately cast fireball, ice cube, and lightning bolt.

Legendary Resistance (1/day). If the aeralfos fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The aeralfos makes three attacks.

Broadsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 23 (4d8 + 8) piercing damage.

Clawshot. Ranged Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, range 50 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d4 + 8) piercing damage. If the target is Large or smaller, it must succeed on a DC 21 Strength save or be pulled up to the aeralfos' altitude (up to 50 feet), then fall, taking 1d6 bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet fallen (maximum 10d6) and land prone.

Divine Breath (Recharge 5-6). The aeralfos exhales raw, luminous energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 28 (8d6) lightning damage plus 28 (8d6) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Reactions

Deflect. The aeralfos adds 5 to its AC against one ranged attack that would hit it. To do so, the aeralfos must see the attacker and be wielding a shield.

Legendary Actions

The golden aeralfos can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The golden aeralfos regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Shift. The aeralfos flies up to 20 feet or rises from being prone.

Resist. (Costs 2 Actions.) If the creature is subject to an effect that would require it to use an action to end the effect, or require an action to make a saving throw, it takes that action.

Swift Strike. (Costs 2 Actions.) The aeralfos makes one attack.

Blessed with the divine power of a golden monster, a golden aeralfos is the pinnacle of its kind—a walking deity of lizal kind. Its golden scales and luminous breath send waves of awe into its allies, and shudders of terror into its enemies. Few have ever laid witness to such a legendary monster. If one exists in the modern era, it is surely the most powerful aeralfos alive.
