Rod, common minor

This rod features a prominent red, spherical stone or gemstone at its tip, which is warm to the touch. This rod dwindles with magic power, as if it could run out any moment. The rod has 5 charges, and once the last charge is used the rod is irrevocably destroyed.
Melee Weapon Attack. In place of any weapon attack you would otherwise be able to make, you can swing the rod, which on a hit deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, plus 1 fire damage. You only add your proficiency bonus to this attack roll if you are proficient with rods or fire rods.
Fire Bolt. You cast fire bolt, using Intelligence as your casting ability. If the d20 for the attack roll lands on a 10 or lower, the rod loses one charge unless you are proficient with this rod.
Flame Vortex. While holding it, you can expend 2 charges from this rod to cast flame vortex. The DC equals 8 + your Intelligence modifier + half your proficiency bonus. If you are proficient with this rod, you instead add your full proficiency bonus.
