Mermaid Suit (magic item)

The mermaid suit normally appears as a sapphire-colored pair of trousers. If while wearing them you enter a body of water, it transforms your legs into the tail of a fish, giving you a swim speed of 60 feet, and letting you breathe underwater if you otherwise couldn't. You can sustain any amount of deep sea pressure without difficulty, your speech is never distorted by water, and your melee attack rolls do not suffer disadvantage from being made underwater.
Removing the suit or emerging from water returns you to normal until you enter a body of water again while wearing the suit.
