Casting time: | 1 action |
Range: | 60 feet |
Components: | S, M (a sheet of iron) |
Duration: | Concentration, up to 10 minutes |
You gain control of one unattended object you can see in range that is made mostly or entirely of iron. The object cannot be one which exceeds 10 feet in any dimension.
The controlled object flies up to 30 feet vertically, horizontally, or in any direction you choose. You can only move an object vertically if it weighs 500 pounds or less (including any weight the object is bearing), and can only move an object horizontally if it weighs 2000 pounds or less. You cannot move an object if you are not on solid ground. If you are ever more than 60 feet away from the object, your concentration ends.
Whenever you move the controlled object, you can attempt to strike a creature with it. To do so you must make a ranged spell attack against that creature, and a hit deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
If the object's movement would ever call for a Strength check, you make the ability check with your casting ability but do not add your proficiency bonus.
You must use an action on each of your turns to maintain concentration, otherwise your concentration ends when that turn ends. When you use this action, you can again move the controlled object an additional 30 feet in any direction.
When your concentration ends, if the object is suspended it falls. Any creature underneath the object must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take bludgeoning damage if the object fell at least 10 feet. A dropped object deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet fallen, but cannot exceed the maximum damage dice for your level. This maximum is 1d6 at 1st level, 2d6 at 5th level (20 feet), 3d6 at 11th level (30 feet), and 4d6 at 17th level (40 feet).
