Illumination. The magtail sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet.

Spider Climb. The magtail can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Weak Point. A magtail's defense mechanism activates automatically when its single eye is struck. Any target strike against its eye causes the magtail to instantly curl up, leaving it stunned until the end of its next turn. This stunned condition ends early if the magtail is subjected to fire damage.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage plus 1 fire damage.

“Centipede-like monsters covered in a hard shell. They live in volcanic areas and can move through magma, rushing toward their target using pincers attached to their heads. The single eye between these pincers is their weak spot, but they will do their best to protect it, curling into a ball if injured.”
Encyclopedia

A single-eyed centipede the size of a pony, a magtail attacks with a giant pair of scissor-like mandibles. Carnivorous by nature, it strikes upon virtually anything that moves too close. A magtail is nourished in part by heat, and consequently is most often found near magma or other areas of extremely high temperatures. The black-and-orange body of a magtail visibly glows red with the sheer heat coursing beneath its exoskeleton.
Life Cycle. Magtails are adolescents grown up from gohma larva that adapted to feed on volcanic heat. After many years a thriving magtail can grow into a gohma or the more powerful fire gohma.
