Rod, uncommon major

This rod features a prominent red, spherical stone or gemstone at its tip, which is always warm or hot to the touch. This rod has 5 charges, and regains 1d4 + 1 charges daily at dawn.
Melee Weapon Attack (0 charges). As a melee weapon attack, you swing the rod which on a hit deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, plus 1 fire damage. You only add your proficiency bonus to this attack roll if you are proficient with rods or fire rods.
Fire Bolt (0 charges). You cast fire bolt using Intelligence as your casting ability, but only add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll if you are proficient with this rod. If you already know fire bolt, casting it in this way also ignites the target on a hit.
Flame Vortex (1 charge). You cast flame vortex using Intelligence as your casting ability, but only add your proficiency bonus to the DC if you are proficient with this rod. The DC is otherwise 8 + your Intelligence modifier.
“A magical rod that can cast fireballs, said to have been crafted by an ancient magician.”
