Evocation cantrip
Casting time:  1 action
Range:  30 feet
Components:  V, S
Duration:  Instantaneous

A creature in range you can see has the surface of its body scorched by sudden but momentary heat. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d8 fire damage. If the target isn't wearing armor and doesn't have natural armor, it instead takes 1d12 fire damage. Spells and features which grant an AC don't count as granting natural armor for the purpose of this spell.
This spell's damage increases by one die when you reach 5th level (2d8 or 2d12), 11th level (3d8 or 3d12), and 17th level (4d8 or 4d12).
