Flyby. While it is flying, the mothula's movement doesn't provoke reactions.

Forest Camouflage. The mothula has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in forests, woodlands, or other terrain of abundant foliage.

Weak Point. The mothula's wings are destroyed if it takes fire damage, is hit by a target strike, or is hit by a sneakstrike. The mothula loses its flight speed, and any fire damage it takes is maximized until it regains its flight speed. The de-winged mothula can quickly regenerate its wings by finishing a short or long rest.

Actions (2 per turn)

Spawn Morth Swarm (Recharge 5-6). The mothula spews a swarm of morths into any space within 10 feet of it. If there is already a creature in this space it must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw, taking 13 (2d12) piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 feet, one target. Hit: 8 (1d12 + 2) slashing damage. If this hits while the mothula is flying, the target takes an extra 5 (2d4) fire damage and must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Morth Shot. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 20/60 feet, one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage. Miss: One morth appears in the target's space, or the nearest space this attack could reach.

“This gigantic moth scatters its scales through the air. Even using projectiles to clip its wings won't assure safety - it can still run around swiftly and release larvae.”
— Nintendo Gallery Figurine

A horse-sized moth with a single cyclopean eye, a mothula chops apart prey with giant scissor-like mandibles. Carnivorous by nature, it devours almost any beast in whatever jungles or marshes it calls home. Its black and green carapace blends well into its habitat. A mothula's wings are notoriously fragile, but even if they are destroyed and it is forced to walk, it remains a potent and aggressive monster. It has the peculiar habitat of using its newborn offspring, morths, as living weaponry.
