Ambusher. The python has advantage on attack rolls targeting any creature that has yet to have a turn in this combat.

Siege Monster. The python deals double damage to objects and structures.

Tunneler. The python can burrow through solid rock at half its burrow speed and leaves a 5-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.

Underwater Camouflage. The python has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made while underwater.

Water Breathing. The python can only breathe underwater.

Weak Point. A target strike which hits just below the python's head deals double damage.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d12 + 5) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the python can't bite another target.

Swallow. The python makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the python, and it takes 7 (2d6) acid damage at the start of each of the python's turns. The python can have only one target swallowed at a time. If the python dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 10 feet of movement, exiting prone.

“It's a deep python. Get close to it and stun it. If you fail, it'll getcha!”
Tatl, fairy of navigation

A colossal omnivorous eel only found in ocean depths, a deep python (or "sea snake") can be dozens if not hundreds of feet long. Its dark coloration make it difficult to notice against the background of ocean depths, despite its immensity.
Ambush Predator. A deep python often hides under mountains of sand or inside stone tunnels, only to dart out and crush prey in powerful bird-like beaks capable of tearing apart galleons with a single strike. Their beaks and entire faces are as hard as steel, but their gills are remarkably fragile. These monsters are known to hunt in open waters where their gills are more exposed, but only do so when food is otherwise scarce.
     Environment: Sea
