From a distance, a fairy of navigation appears as a spherical ball of light with wings. When viewed up close, it becomes apparent that is actually a diminutive creature that superficially resembles a tiny hylian with insect-like wings. One of these fairies is only a few inches tail. It can fly almost effortlessly, flittering about so quickly and deftly it seems magical.
Magic Friends. These fairies are magically created, most famously by great fairies and the Great Deku Tree using spells like fairy familiar. The creator usually has some sway over the personalities and physical characteristics of the fairies they create. As such, these fairies show inherent allegiance to their creator, and are usually quite friendly in general. Almost every kokiri child is bestowed one of these fairies by the Deku Tree to serve at its guide.
Pacifist. Due to its tiny size, this kind of fairy has practically no combat capability, but easily evades conventional attacks and spells alike. Versus a typical monster or warrior, one of these fairies can at best serve as a distraction.
