This crude armor consists of thick furs and pelts. It is commonly worn by rural tribes, monsters, and other folk who lack access to the tools and materials needed to craft more effective armor.
You must have proficiency with medium armor to wear hide proficiently. If you wear armor that you lack proficiency with, you have disadvantage on any ability check, saving throw, or attack roll that involves Strength or Dexterity, and you can't cast spells.
