The following table summarizes all creatures in Legends of Hyrule. Click any of the names below for full details for that creature.
See creature overview for a general explanation of creatures, creature stat blocks, and how they work.
The Monster Manual lists creatures at a given Challenge (CR); that's it, that's the CR this creature has. This bestiary takes a more dynamic approach. Each creature is usually given four or more stat blocks depending on its group. There are five different groups:
- A minor creature has up to four stat blocks CR of 2 or less, such as 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 1. Non-combatants and some animals are minor creatures. Most minor creatures would prefer to avoid a fight.
- A standard creature typically includes CRs 1 through 9. Many standard creatures prefer to fight in groups.
- A legendary creature typically has stat blocks with a CR between 5 and 20 (e.g., CR 6, 10, 14, & 18) and usually has legendary actions. "Boss monsters" are usually legendary.
- An epic creature has stat blocks usually between 15 and 30, and might serve as the final antagonist of a campaign or a high-level adventure.
- A special creature does not fit into any of the previous categories, and may only feature one stat block.
Some creatures may be in two groups. Lynels for example have both standard and legendary stat blocks.
