Ambusher. The octorok has advantage on attack rolls targeting any creature that has yet to have a turn in this combat.

Amphibious. The octorok can breathe air and water.

Actions

Multiattack. The octorok makes four attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Spit Rock. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 30/90 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Reactions

Tactical Retreat. If it is targeted with a melee attack, the attack is made with disadvantage. Regardless of whether it was hit by this attack, the octorok then moves up to 10 feet and this movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

This formerly blue octorok was transformed by the same variety evil, empowering magic that creatures silver monsters. Consequently a dark octorok may be known as a silver octorok' or even a purple octorok. It is particularly aggressive and surprisingly cunning for an octo, and seems experienced enough fighting conventional warriors that it will weave away from sword strikes. Despite its nature and relative power, it is still found among other octoroks and has mostly the same behavior.
Environment: Coastal, Forest, Grassland, Hills, Lake, Sea
