Twili in Hyrule?
In the official timeline, twili have no known way of existing outside of the Twilight Realm. The only known means of transport between the two worlds was destroyed, sealing the realms apart from each other. Even so, twili are a popular race in the Zelda fandom. In the legends forged by your DM, a small sect of twili might have settled somewhere in the Light World as refugees, or you might've individually been banished from your home-realm without means of return. There are countless possibilities. Because being "alien" is so inherent to twili lore, however, they are not considered a race of light and you should attain your DM's approval before choosing this race.

Character details

Alignment. Twili hail from usurpers and renegades who threatened to overthrow a kingdom and seize a dark, magical power. Their alignments vary widely from one to another, but as a whole they have a slight tendency towards chaotic evil.
Age. Twili age slowly. They may not reach full adulthood until 20 years or more, but can live to be nearly 200.
Diet. As a Medium humanoid, each day you require at least 1 pound of food and 1 gallon of water to avoid exhaustion.
Names. Twili names often incorporate symbols that are less frequently used in modern Hylian—such as z, x, j, or q— but otherwise follow a similar structure. Female names are more likely to end in vowels than male names. Male examples include Epoq, Hajar, Qeel, and Xant. Female examples include Midi, Saé, Umbra, and Zara.

Character traits

Sunlight Weakness Alternative
Sunlight Sensitivity is meant to give twili a hindrance in sunlight while still allowing a twili to be a practical player-character during daytime excursions. To more closely resemble the weakness seen by twili in Twilight Princess, your DM might replace it with the following feature.
Sunlight Weakness. While in bright sunlight, you have disadvantage on all ability checks and attack rolls, and you cannot regain heart points. This feature can be removed in place of gaining a feat you would otherwise be able to gain.

The descendants of hylians who were banished to the Twilight Realm for their crimes. The realm and their own magical prowess has long twisted them into a completely different race.

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2.
Size. Tall and thin, an adult twili typically stands between 6 and 8 feet. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Sunlight Sensitivity. Your people evolved to eternal twilight and darkness, and the bright light of the sun is extremely unpleasant to you. While in bright sunlight, you have disadvantage on all ranged attack rolls, and on all Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on sight. You cannot gain the benefits of rest while in bright sunlight.
Arcane Heritage. Your people are masters of what most Hyruleans call ancient magic, and what they consider arcane secrets is common knowledge in your homeland. You have advantage on any Intelligence (Arcana) check made to recall lore about spells, or made to recall lore about the Twilight Realm and phenomena originating from it.
Language. All twili read, write, and speak the Twilight language. A minority of twili, including all twili player-characters, are just as fluent in Hylian.
Subrace. Choose one from elegant, scarred, or usurper.

Elegant

Compared to most twili, your facial features take a shape closest to hylians who haven't been twisted by the Twilight Realm. If it wasn't for your smooth gray skin and abnormally colored eyes, someone could even mistake you for an unusually tall and slender hylian. Among your people, your kind has traditionally comprised the ruling upper class, possibly including the monarchy. The few elegant twili who have ventured into the Light World have had a relatively easier time adapting to the alien world and foreign cultures.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Magic Adept. Your magic point maximum increases by 2.
Twilit Magic. You know one cantrip of your choice from minor illusion, message, and sever. You also know one spell from warping step, conjure wolf spirit, and disguise self and can cast it as normal by expending magic points. Intelligence is your casting ability for these spells.
Elegant Step. While your speed isn't reduced, you are able to hover just above the ground and float around instead of walk. Your walking speed still determines how far and how fast you can move. While hovering in this way, you are immune to ground-based difficult terrain and pressure-based traps such as hunting traps.

Scarred

When the false king conquered all the realm, he used accursed masks to transform the twili people into violent beasts that obeyed only him. Many twili were fortunate enough to be restored fully to sanity and healthy bodies, but even after the king fell some still bore scars—both mental and physical. You are either one such twili, or one of their descendants. For better or worse, you can still transform yourself into one of those accursed shadow beasts if you try.

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.
Shadow Beast. As a bonus action, you can transform into a beastly, jet-black version of yourself with a horrifying visage for up to 1 minute. Within this duration, you add a d4 bonus die to all Strength-based attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws; to all Constitution saving throws; and to all Charisma (Intimidation) checks. Additionally, you gain temporary heart points equal to your proficiency bonus at the start of each of your turns. You can end this transformation at any time (no action required) and it ends abruptly if you fall unconscious. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can do so again.

Usurper

Compared to most twili, your facial features are abnormally flat and plain in appearance, to the extent even other twili may find them eerie. Historically your kind have been associated with rebels, including the false king. Although all twili hail from the ancient race that was banished to the Twilight Realm, your kind has become presumed by some to be the interloping renegades responsible. Even today the scars of that conflict lead some to prejudice against you simply due to your appearance.

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Twilit Resilience. Even more so than most other twili, you have adapted and evolved to the hardships of the Twilight Realm. You have advantage on all ability checks and saving throws to avoid exhaustion or being frightened.
Cantrip. You know one cantrip of your choice from thaumaturgy, sage hand, and necrotic ray. Intelligence is your casting ability for this spell.
Skill Proficiency. Without the regal magic nor the dark powers of other twili, you find your own ways to thrive—perhaps by manipulating others. You have proficiency in one skill of your choice from Arcana, Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion.
