Keen Smell. The bokoblin has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Perseverance. The bokoblin has advantage on any ability check or saving throw to avoid exhaustion or being poisoned. It can thrive on one-quarter of the food and water normally needed for a creature of its size.

Reckless. At the start of its turn, the bokoblin can gain advantage on all melee weapon attack rolls it makes during that turn, but attack rolls against it have advantage until the start of its next turn.

Actions

Maul. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 1) bludgeoning damage.

Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) bludgeoning damage.

“This common species is a nuisance all over Hyrule. They're tougher and have stronger weapons than the red bokoblins—and are a little more clever, as well.”
— Hyrule Compendium, Breath of the Wild

Tough bokoblins separate themselves by not only being more resilient and confident than typical bokoblins, but wielding decent weapons and pulling together passable bits of armor. Some even manage to get a meager amount of respect from monsters other than their fellow bokoblins.
