Prerequisite: The ability to cast at least one powered spell
You've learned to manipulate and transform the spells you cast, using a practice called metamagic. When you cast a spell, you can expend 1 extra magic point when you cast it to give it one of the following effects. This extra magic point is not subject to your Magic Limit.
Careful Spell. When you cast a spell that forces other creatures to make a saving throw, you can protect some of those creatures from the spell's full force. Choose a number of those creatures up to your proficiency bonus. A chosen creature automatically succeeds on its saving throw against the spell.
Distant Spell. When you cast a spell that has a range of 5 feet or greater, you double the range of the spell. When you cast a spell that has a range of touch, the range becomes 30 feet.
Extended Spell. When you cast a spell that has a duration of 1 minute or longer, you double its duration, to a maximum duration of 24 hours.
Subtle Spell. You cast the spell without any somatic or verbal components.
