Evocation cantrip
Casting time:  1 action
Range:  120 feet
Components:  V, S
Duration:  Instantaneous

You conjure a sharp spike of ice and make either a melee or ranged spell attack with it. A ranged spell attack can target any creature or object in range you can see, but a melee spell attack must target an adjacent creature or object. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 piercing damage plus 1d4 cold damage and the spike shatters out of existence.
     This spell's piercing and cold damage both increase by 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d4 + 2d4), 11th level (3d4 + 3d4), and 17th level (4d4 + 4d4).
