“Deku Hornets make nests in the large trees of Faron Woods. The woods are teeming with life, so these hornets have plenty of prey and in turn grow quite large. The venom in their stingers is particularly dangerous.”
Encyclopedia

Deku hornets, hylian hornets, and their kin are significantly larger than a mere bees—most hornets are as big as a hylian's hand. Known to attack in groups, their stringers can take down creatures many times their size. Approaching a hornet hive can be a death sentence for anyone unable to deal with the consequences.
