standard technique — reaction
When you are hit by a melee attack, if you are wielding a shield or a weapon with the versatile property, you can use this technique as a reaction. Roll your Stamina Die, then subtract this result from the damage you take from that attack. If this reduces the damage you take to 0, the attack misses you instead.
