Amorphous. The gel can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

Damage Transfer. When it is grappling another creature, the gel takes only half the damage dealt to it (rounded down), and the creature grappled by the gel takes the other half.

Exploitative. The gel has advantage on attack rolls targeting any creature that has its speed reduced.

Zol Fusion. Two gels that complete a short rest together may fuse into a zol with full heart points.

Actions

Cling. Melee Weapon Attack: +0 to hit, reach 0 ft., one creature. Hit: 1 acid damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 10). Until this grapple ends, the gel can't move or attack another target.

“Small, gelatinous monsters that jump around inside dungeons. [...] Slicing a zol with a weak sword will split it into two gels.”
Encyclopedia

More akin to a pest than a monster, a gel is palm-sized blob of sticky slime that "attacks" by latching onto its prey like a sticker and squirming wildly. Their squirming and stickiness hamper the prey's ability to move and resist, which make them easier targets for nearby zols or other monsters. Gels usually have a symbiotic relationship with zols, and can become zols if two gels take the time to fuse into one creature. Gels and zols come in a variety of colors from bright red to moldy dark brown, and a pair of eye-like balls appear to be their only recognizable organs
Chu Nature. The gel does not require air or sleep.
     Environment: Caves, Ruins
