Plate armor consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a helmet with visor, and thick layers of padding underneath the metal plates. Buckles and straps help distribute the weight over one's body.
Anyone wearing plate has disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to move quietly.
Proficiency. To wear plate proficiently, you must have a Strength score of 15 or higher, and be proficient with heavy armor. If you wear armor that you lack proficiency with, you have disadvantage on any ability check, saving throw, or attack roll that involves Strength or Dexterity, and you can't cast spells.
