Housecats are often found in the villages of hylians, or occasionally other races, and sometimes even kept as pets.  Common cats help deter rodents, bugs, and other pests that might invade hylian homes so they are generally seen as beneficial.  Many people even have a particular fondness for cats and keep them as pets.
